Wholewheat choco chip cookies

My go to cookie recipe. Whole wheat and jaggery give it a beautiful distinct taste .

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbspn granulated sugar
  • 2 tbspn jaggery paste/pwdr
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1 tbspn milk , at room temperature
  • 1/4 tspn teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup choco chips

Procedure :

  • Mix wheat flour, salt and baking soda well in a bowl and set aside.
  • Add cold but soft butter to another bowl and whisk well for 2 mins.
  • Add sugar and jaggery to the butter and whisk again. Cream till the mix turns fluffy. Do not overdo as this can result in butter and sugar separating out.
  • Add the vanilla extract to the butter sugar mix
  • Next add the flour mix to it.
  • Mix well to form a dough. Add milk and choco chips.
  • The dough must be moist but not sticky.
  • Shape into cookies
  • Preheat oven to 180 for 15 mins
  • Bake for 10 mins.
  • The cookies will be soft on the middle but will form up after a while.
