So the milk split again 😀 This time it was a good 1.5 litres. I decided to make good use of it. The hubby and I love paneer dishes and I thought making paneer out of the split milk would make me feel better.
Below are the steps to make paneer at home :
1. If you have milk that is already split, heat it further on a low flame till the solids separate out completely from the liquid.
If you have milk that you intend to use for this purpose, boil the milk and then add a little lemon juice to it. You will see the solids separating from the liquid.
2. Now strain this to collect the milk solids in a strainer. Leave aside for 20 minutes so that all the water drains away.
3. Transfer the milk solids to a clean thin muslin cloth. Wrap tightly and place under a heavy vessel filled with water so that more water is drained out from the solid mass. Place it this way for 2-3 hours.
4. Cut the paneer chunk into smaller pieces . Either use fresh or refrigerate and use later.
