Carrot Halwa

Back with a post after EONS! 🙂 Carrot halwa or gajar halwa is a very popular Indian dessert. It requires very few ingredients and is extremely simple to make.

 

Ingredients :

Grated Carrots : 4 cups

Milk : 4 cups

Sugar : 1.5 cups

Ghee (Clarified butter) : 3 tablespoons

Cashewnuts : 1 tablespoon

Raisins : 1 tablespoon

Cardamom : 2-3 (skinned and finely crushed)

Cloves : 2-3

Procedure :

  • Cook the grated carrots with milk in a pan. Make sure the flame is low and stir once in a while.
  • Once the carrot is cooked, add the sugar and stir well. Add the Cardamom and cloves. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Roast the cashewnuts and raisins in ghee and add it to the pan. Stir well. Serve hot 🙂
