Make naan at home. The prep is easy , although we need to rest the dough for 3-4 hours and allow it to rise. Usually only maida is used to prepare naan. I have added half a glass of wheat flour to the maida to make the dough a little firm. Also, the kneaded dough should not be as firm as the dough that we make for chapati.
Ingredients : (serves 2)
2.5 cups of maida (all-purpose flour)
1/2 cup wheat flour (optional)
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon yeast
1 cup milk
Kasuri methi or coriander leaves for seasoning (optional)
Mix the yeast, salt and sugar in the milk. Then mix the milk, butter and maida to make the naan dough. Use water if necessary. You can also season it with coriander leaves or kasuri methi.
Cover and leave for 3-4 hours. The dough rises and becomes extremely soft.
The rest of the procedure is exactly the same as making chapati although the ingredients are different. For procedure, refer paratha/chapati .
