Tamarind Chutney


Ingredients : (Serves 2)

Tamarind pulp from 3 pods

3 dry red chillies

For Tempering :

1/2 teaspoon urad dal

1/2 teaspoon chana dal

1/2 teaspoon mustard

4-5 curry leaves

Salt as per taste

1 teaspoon oil

Procedure :

  • Grind the tamarind and red chillies to form a uniform paste.
  • Add the oil to a small skillet. Add mustard, urad dal, chana dal and curry eaves to it.
  • Once the mustard splutters and the dal turns golden brown, remove from flame and add to the ground tamarind paste.

This can be used with a variety of dishes like dosa, chutney, tapioca.
