Pav Bhaji

Ingredients :

Pav – from the store 🙂

For Bhaji –
Potato :2
Carrot :2
Onion : 2
Capsicum : 1
Peas :1/2 cup
Cauliflower : 10-15 florets
Tomato : 2
Turmeric powder :1/2 teaspoon
Chilli powder : 1 teaspoon
Pav Bhaji masala : 1 tablespoon
Ginger garlic paste : 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Butter

Procedure :
Boil the potato, mash it and keep it aside.
Cook the vegetables (other than onion and tomato) till they are soft enough to be mashed. This can be done using a cooker or by boiling the vegetables in water.
Add some oil in a pan and add chopped onions to it. Add salt, turmeric, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and pav bhaji masala to it. Cook for 4-5 minutes.  Now add the chopped tomato to this. Cook for 5 mins. Add the cooked vegetables and mash the whole mixture while mixing the veggies with the masala. Also, add the mashed potato and cook for 5 minutes. Bhaji is ready. Sprinkle some lemon juice over the bhaji while serving.
PS: I know friends who add tur dal to the bhaji. Will try that version too in some time.

The pav can be slit and then heated on the tawa with ghee. To add flavour to it, rub some chaat masala on the pav. Heat till it turns slightly brown.

Serve the pav with bhaji  and dont forget to add a blob of butter on it 🙂
