Kerala style fish curry

Ingredients :

1 kg fish (Katla)
10 shallots
1 large onion
6 green chillies slit
5-6 garlic cloves diced
1 medium piece ginger diced
curry leaves
1 teaspoon turmeric
3 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
1/2 a coconut’s milk (1st,2nd and 3rd pressed)
kudampuli (Garcinia gummi-gutta)
salt according to taste

Procedure :
Shallow fry the fish pieces on a tawa and keep them aside.
First of all, collect the first, second and third pressed milk of coconut. Secondly, mix the masala powders with a little water to form a paste. Finally soak the kudampuli in warm water.
Keep all these aside.
In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil. Add the fenugreek seeds,curry leaves ginger, garlic, chilli. Fry for 2 minutes. Now add the shallots and diced onion into the pan. Cook till the shallots and onion turns translucent. Add the masala paste and salt. Cook till the oil separates from the masala mixture. Now add the 3rd pressed coconut milk to this. Also put in the kodampuli. Then add the shallow fried fish to the gravy. Cook for 5 minutes. Now, add the second pressed coconut milk to the dish. Close the pan and cook till it boils. Finally, add the first pressed coconut milk to this and turn off the gas.
Fish curry is ready.
